Networking opportunities prove useful however, at some point; you are going to be required to submit one of two documents. Authentically You

Authentically You Are you the real deal? Do you come across authentically?     Should I define what I mean? According to Dictionary.com, authentic is defined as: Accurate in representation of the facts; trustworthy; reliable Have you ever met someone who wasnt authentic? How could you tell? Was it in the words they used, the tone of their voice, their body language?   Was it all three or did you just feel it in your gut? One of the fears I think people in job search have is that they will come across phony.   When networking, they feel like there is a hidden agenda (to find a job).   At the core of networking, the very purpose for doing it is to build a relationship.   Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesnt.   The key is to be genuine. Heres the fine line, being authentic versus being a jerk or being TOO you. Know when to hold back. Expressing your strong opinions about politics, religion or philosophies in general, is usually not the best idea.   Does this mean you are being disingenuous?   Or does it just mean that you dont have to lay it all out or confess deep dark secrets. Being humble versus being self-ignorant.   Theres a difference.   You can know what you are good at doing and love doing and not brag about it or you could have no clue what is important to you (values, skills, traits, strengths, weaknesses).   Lacking self-awareness is a dangerous thing.   Figure out who you are and what makes you tick, both the good and the bad. Give selflessly. Dont hold back on sharing information that might help someone else.   Share.   I am so sick an tired of people protecting their turf.   Well all end up better in the long run if we give. Ive been talking about the emotions and thoughts, but you want to back up your authenticity with words.no, STORIES.   Stories are believable.   Stories are authentic.   What is your defining story? Use words and phrases that are purposeful, not ad libbed (unless youve been trained in improv). Crafting the words, especially during job search, provides you with confidence and because each first impression is so important, youve ensured you are making the best one possible. And even though your Coach will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and face your fears, you develop a very close professional relationship.I have clients that I have worked with many years ago, and we might have had an intensive series of coaching sessions initially when they were going through a career or life transition. And now that theyre into their new careers, perhaps every six months or eight months, theyll suddenly make a booking in my online calendar, because they need a top up session.This might be nothing to do with job hunting, but something to do with their communication skills at work, or maybe theres an office bully they aren’t sure how to handle, or theres some other concern that theyre worried about or perhaps they need leadership coaching if they are growing their team.And, because we’ve developed a strong rapport, and we have worked well together in the past, Im always delighted to work with them again!But if you find that youre working with a Coach who just doesnt feel right; please dont work with them, because you must get to know, like and TRUST your Coach.So, the best way to decide is to get a referral from someone you respect, then make sure that they are qualified, and, even more important than the qualifications, is the RAPPORT. Talk to some of their past clients and ask, “What are they like to work with? Do they follow up? Do they keep you on track? Do they keep you accountable?”Because really, your Coach is there for accountability to make sure you take action to create the life or career you desire. And theyre your Champion when things get tough. A good coach will work with you and celebrate your successes!
